Emma and Ben’s Week 8 Guest Suite on The Block: A Gem of Comfort and Style

The Block Week 8
Emma and Ben Guest Suite

The Block 2025 turned up the heat this week with Guest Suite reveals, and Emma and Ben walked away with their first win. Their bold decision to combine a kitchenette with a bedroom and ensuite created a multifunctional retreat that the judges described as a true gem, luxurious, practical, and packed with personality.

A multifunctional guest retreat

The moment the judges walked in, it was a chorus of “woahs” and “wows.” Shaynna Blaze couldn’t get enough of the selections, saying, “I love the copper sink, I love the tapware, I love the tiles, there are some really beautiful choices.” Darren Palmer called the amenity “phenomenal,” admitting he didn’t want to leave, while Marty Fox thought Emma and Ben had sprinkled their unique style throughout.

What set them apart was the addition of a kitchenette, a clever move that elevated the space from standard guest bedroom to self-contained hideaway.

Kitchenette details that shine

The compact kitchen is a masterclass in layering textures and tones. Jewel-like dark green zellige tiles shimmer across the splashback, perfectly balanced by Momo Ona Lip Pull Handles in Metallic Golden Brown that disappear elegantly into the cabinetry. Functionality comes through the Meir Kitchen Mini Sink in Brushed Bronze Gold, paired with the sculptural Meir Paddle Round Gooseneck Kitchen Mixer in Lustre Bronze, creating a refined but highly usable zone. Overhead, the Eglo Pandella 78cm Vanity Wall Light in Chrome casts a clean glow that ties the space together.

A jewel-toned ensuite

If the kitchenette set the mood, the ensuite sealed the deal. Judges’ eyes widened at the jewel-toned palette, with Darren praising it as “beautifully planned” for both flow and amenity. Layers of dark green Dianna Zellige and green Ella Zellige tiles created a striking backdrop for a sleek Timberline Santos Apollo Fluted Wall Hung Vanity and the practical elegance of a Timberline Denver Shaving Cabinet.

The brushed bronze fixtures added a modern touch of luxury throughout, from the Meir Curved Combination Shower Rail and Meir Round Wall Mixer to the Meir Round Curved Spout and matching accessories, including the Meir Round Robe Hook, Meir Round Single Towel Rail, and Meir Round Toilet Roll Holder. Anchoring the space is the Caroma Urbane II Cleanflush Invisi Wall Faced Toilet Suite, a streamlined essential that balances form and function.

Judges' praise

The verdict was unanimous. Shaynna said the suite set “a high benchmark for judging,” Darren called it “a beautifully laid out, great space with lots of amenities,” and Marty summed it up best: “They’ve literally thrown the Emma and Ben sprinkles all over this, and I love it.”

Final thoughts

Emma and Ben’s guest suite is more than a competition win; it’s proof that bold ideas, layered textures and thoughtful layouts can transform a simple bedroom into a guest-ready haven. And while the contestants used different suppliers on The Block, you can achieve the same inviting look at home with these look-alike alternatives from The Blue Space.
