View all productsThe Phoenix 4000 Series sink is a hand-welded, 304 grade stainless steel kitchen sink built at a thicker 1.2mm gauge than Phoenix's entry-level range. It's available as a single bowl sink, including a 700mm-wide option, and also comes in a double bowl configuration for kitchens that prefer a split basin. Every 4000 Series sink supports undermount and overmount installation with a centre rear waste for extra cupboard space below.
Phoenix 4000 Series single bowl sink
The single bowl sink is the standout in this range, giving one continuous basin deep enough to fit trays, stockpots and oven racks without needing to work around a divider. It comes in two widths, a 573mm model and a larger 683mm 1-3/4 bowl variant with a small secondary bowl, alongside true single bowl options sized for wider benchtops. The hand-welded build gives the bowl extra rigidity and a noticeably quieter feel under running water compared to a pressed sink of the same gauge.
700mm sink option
For kitchens with a wider benchtop run, the 4000 Series includes a sink close to the 700mm mark, specifically the 683 x 446mm model, which suits installations wanting significant bowl length without moving to a double bowl layout. A 700mm sink like this is often chosen for island benches or main prep zones where a single continuous basin needs to comfortably fit a full-size oven tray laid flat.
Double bowl configuration
The 4000 Series also comes in a double bowl layout at 772 x 446mm, giving two full-depth bowls, each holding around 33 litres, for households that prefer to separate washing and rinsing or want a dedicated bowl for food prep. Both bowls sit at the same 235mm depth as the single bowl models, so the step up to double bowl doesn't come at the cost of bowl depth.
Construction and finish
Every sink in the range is made from 1.2mm 304 grade stainless steel, hand-welded rather than machine-pressed, which is the main factor separating the 4000 Series from Phoenix's lighter-gauge sinks. Standard brushed stainless steel is available across all sizes, with a brushed black finish offered on select single and double bowl models for kitchens wanting a darker, matte look. Brushed black sinks include a base protector grid, though this finish is not recommended for laundry use.
Mounting and waste position
All 4000 Series sinks are designed for either undermount or overmount installation, and every model uses a centre rear waste location rather than a centred or offset front waste. This keeps plumbing pushed toward the back of the cabinet, maximising the usable storage space directly beneath the bowl, which matters most in narrower base cabinets.
Matching accessories and workstation setup
The 4000 Series shares its accessory range with the 2000 and 5000 Series sinks, so ash wood chopping boards, a stainless steel colander, drainer tray, wire basket and roller mat can all be added to build a full workstation-style prep zone directly over the bowl. These accessories are sized to sit on the sink's rim ledges, so it's worth checking rim dimensions against the specific bowl size chosen.
Choosing the right 4000 Series sink
A single bowl sink, particularly the wider 700mm-class model, suits kitchens prioritising one large, flexible workspace, while the double bowl model suits households that value having two independent basins running at once. Either way, the 4000 Series sits a step above Phoenix's lighter-gauge range through its thicker steel and hand-welded construction, which is the detail worth confirming if you're comparing sinks purely on specification sheets.
