View all productsTurner Hastings butler sinks span two fireclay ranges, the Novi single and double bowl butler sinks and the Cuisine inset and undermount sinks. Both are made from solid fireclay, come in a range of widths, and are available in matte black as well as the classic fireclay finish, with the Novi range offering a universal flat or ribbed front option.
The Novi range: single and double bowl fireclay sinks
The Novi collection is Turner Hastings' main fireclay butler sink line, available as a single bowl for smaller kitchens or a double bowl for households that want separate wash and prep zones. Novi sinks come in a spread of sizes to suit different cabinetry widths, so it's worth measuring your cabinet opening before choosing between the single and double bowl options. Fireclay construction means the Novi holds its shape and surface finish under constant water exposure far better than a pressed steel sink, and it resists scratching from everyday knives and pots in a way stainless steel can't match.
Universal flat or ribbed front, explained
Novi sinks with the universal front panel give you a choice between a flat, smooth apron face or a ribbed, fluted front, generally by installing the panel one way or the other. This means one sink effectively covers two looks. A flat front suits a streamlined, contemporary kitchen, while the ribbed front reads more Hamptons or farmhouse and pairs well with shaker-style cabinetry. It's a genuinely useful detail if you're not fully settled on a kitchen style yet, since it defers that decision until installation rather than locking it in at the point of purchase.
The Cuisine range: inset and undermount fireclay sinks
The Cuisine range takes the same fireclay material and applies it to an inset or undermount format rather than the exposed apron-front look of the Novi. Cuisine sinks sit into or under the benchtop rather than projecting out in front of the cabinetry, which suits kitchens where you want the practical benefits of fireclay, easy cleaning, heat resistance, a substantial deep bowl, without the farmhouse-style front panel on display. Cuisine is available in multiple width options to match different benchtop configurations.
Why fireclay for a kitchen sink
Fireclay is fired at extremely high temperatures, which gives it a hard, non-porous surface that resists staining, scratching and chipping far better than enamelled cast iron or standard ceramic. It also holds heat differently to stainless steel, so hot pots and pans sitting in the bowl won't transfer heat straight through to the cabinet below. Both the Novi and Cuisine ranges get their durability from this same fireclay base, which is part of why the finish still looks new years after installation with basic care.
Matte black and standard fireclay finishes
Alongside the traditional white fireclay finish, both ranges are available in matte black for kitchens leaning into a darker, more contemporary palette. The matte black finish is fired into the fireclay itself rather than coated on top, so it holds up to the same daily use as the standard finish without wearing through at high-contact points like the drain area or sink edges.
Choosing between Novi and Cuisine
If you want the classic farmhouse butler sink look with an exposed front panel, the Novi range in either single or double bowl is the starting point, with the flat or ribbed front giving you flexibility on style. If your kitchen design calls for a cleaner benchtop line without a visible apron, the Cuisine inset or undermount range delivers the same fireclay performance in a format that sits flush with your cabinetry.
