Inspiration behind the bathroom renovation

Our home lacked both style and practicality, with wasted space and harsh square lines throughout. To soften the look, we introduced curves wherever possible — from Nood Co's pill-shaped basins and round Caroma tapware to a curved ADP vanity and freestanding Caroma bath. Paired with a calm, neutral palette inspired by the nearby sand dunes and Tasman Sea, these choices transformed the space into a warm, inviting bathroom that feels grounded and serene.

What Blue Space products do you love & why?

We loved the range of trustworthy brands. With so many lesser known brands in the market, it’s hard to decipher which products are going to stand the test of time. Caroma really shone for us. When it comes to tapware - you can’t skimp. If your tapware fails, it can be costly, so Caroma’s solid reputation is a big one for us.

Plan Before You Design

Speak to your trades early — plumber, electrician, tiler and carpenter — before locking in your design. This avoids costly changes later and can uncover smarter, more creative solutions you may not have considered. Ordering all products well in advance is just as important, as lead times can be long and trades need items on-site early for rough-ins.

Treat Lighting as a Design Feature

Lighting should create calm, not feel clinical. Instead of multiple harsh downlights, layer your lighting with LED strips under vanities, in niches or behind the bath, paired with soft wall sconces. Ask your electrician to set up multiple lighting options so you can switch between practical brightness and relaxed, spa-like moods.
