Meir Oppen Cabinet Handles Buying Guide
Meir Oppen is a range of slim, minimal cabinet handles designed to match Meir tapware. It includes round pulls, edge pulls, T-pulls and knobs in 304 grade stainless steel, in finishes such as Champagne, Brushed Nickel, Lustre Bronze, Tiger Bronze and Shadow, with knurled versions for extra grip. It suits kitchens, vanities and laundries where the handles and taps should share one finish.
What handle shapes are in the Oppen range?
The Round Pull is a slim 12mm bar in 200mm on 160mm centres, 328mm on 288mm centres and 520mm on 480mm centres, with a 30mm projection. The Edge-Pull fixes to the top edge of a door or drawer and comes in 75mm, 150mm and 300mm lengths. The T-Pull is 40mm long, and the Knob is 30mm across with a 24mm projection.
What is an edge pull?
An edge pull is a flat pull fixed along the top or side edge of a drawer or door, so only a slim lip shows from the front. It keeps a clean, almost handleless look while giving a firm grip. The Oppen edge pull suits cabinet walls of 13mm to 18mm thick.
What does knurled mean?
Knurling is a pattern of fine parallel lines cut into the metal. It adds a tactile texture and a better grip, which suits drawers and doors used many times a day. Knurled Oppen handles come in finishes including Champagne, Brushed Nickel, Tiger Bronze and Lustre Bronze.
What size cabinet handle do I need?
Size the handle to the front. A knob, T-pull or 75mm edge pull suits small doors and narrow drawers. The 200mm round pull or 150mm edge pull suits a standard drawer of about 450mm to 700mm. The 328mm round pull or 300mm edge pull suits wide drawers and pot drawers, and the 520mm pull suits a pantry door or tall panel. If replacing handles, match the existing hole centres.
How do I match handles with tapware?
Use the same finish on the tap and the handles in each room, and keep to no more than two metal finishes per room. Oppen finishes are designed to match Meir tapware, so you can carry Champagne, Brushed Nickel, Tiger Bronze, Lustre Bronze or Shadow from the basin mixer to the vanity drawers. Hold a handle against your tap before ordering a whole kitchen.
How do I clean stainless steel cabinet handles?
Wipe with warm water, a little mild dish soap and a soft microfibre cloth, following the grain on brushed finishes. Rinse with clean water and dry. Avoid bleach, chloride-based cleaners, scourers and abrasive creams, which can mark the finish. In coastal homes, wipe handles more often to remove salt.
Completing the room
Match your handles with a mixer from the wider Meir range, or compare more styles in cabinet pull handles, cabinet knobs and champagne cabinet handles.
