How to choose a Caroma toilet
This page lists the Caroma toilet suites and pans across the Luna, Urbane II, Contura II, Liano, Riviere and Profile ranges, plus the Aire Concorde connector suite. They share a few traits. Every listing here that states a rating carries a 4 star WELS rating, with a 4.5 litre full flush and a 3 litre half flush. Most use a universal trap, which lets one pan fit either an S trap or a P trap set out. What changes from range to range is the shape, the pan height, the cistern arrangement and whether the bowl is rimless.

What Cleanflush means
Cleanflush is Caroma's rimless bowl and flush design. Caroma describes it as Australian designed and patented, with no closed rim under the bowl edge, so there is no hidden channel where residue collects. Three flow components shape the flush, and they aim to wash the whole bowl and limit splashback. Caroma publishes no test figures comparing it with a rimmed pan, so read the benefit as easier wiping and a bowl you can see into, not a measured hygiene gain.
Not every pan on this page is rimless. The Caroma Luna wall faced suite has a glazed box rim and trap, and the Luna Cleanflush suite is the rimless version in that range. The Caroma Cleanflush collection groups the rimless pans, and the Luna Cleanflush page covers that range alone.
What separates the ranges
The ranges differ in lines, height and cistern style rather than in how they flush, so the choice is mostly about the room.
Luna is the plainest of the ranges. The pan height is 395mm without the seat. The universal trap covers S trap set outs of 60 to 185mm on the wall faced suite and up to 205mm on the Cleanflush version, with a P trap set out of 185mm. Luna also has Slim and Square variants and a close coupled Cleanflush suite, and the Caroma Luna range page lists them together.
Urbane II has a taller pan, listed at 440mm without the seat. The range includes a compact wall faced pan with a 500mm projection that takes a P trap only and a back inlet only, which suits a short room but needs the plumbing to match. Contura II has a curved shape, a raised easy height pan listed at 440mm, and finishes that include matte white and clay. The universal trap covers an S trap set out of 60 to 200mm and a P trap set out of 185mm using the supplied connector. The Contura II suites have their own page.

Profile II is a close coupled suite, and the Profile 4 is the skew trap suite, built for a waste outlet on the left or right of the pan instead of the usual S or P position. Moving a skew waste to an S or P position is a plumbing job, which is why a pan made for that layout avoids the work.
Aire Concorde is a connector suite with a vitreous china pan and a lightweight plastic cistern. The set out adjusts from 155 to 255mm on the sheet, and you pick the S trap or P trap version on the listing. That makes it a practical fit for a replacement where the existing waste position is awkward. The inlet is bottom entry.
Trap, set out and the Uni-Orbital connector
A universal trap pan fits either an S trap or a P trap installation. Several Caroma pans add a Uni-Orbital connector, which lets the pan position move within a 50mm radius and often decides whether a replacement is straightforward. Contura II and Riviere listings also include a D82 fixing bracket. Caroma's installation instructions state that installation must follow AS/NZS 3500.1 and AS/NZS 3500.2, and that the cistern must be matched with a compatible Caroma Smartflush pan to reach the 4.5 and 3 litre flush and the 4 star rating. Always read the set out line on the listing. It differs between ranges, and a few listings state a single figure or a variable range with a recommended value.
The numbers, range by range
The listings give enough detail to compare ranges without guessing. The Luna suites have a 395mm pan height, an overall height of 805mm and a width of 373mm, and the Luna Cleanflush close coupled suite stands about 815mm high. The Urbane II Cleanflush wall faced suite has a 440mm pan height, a 655mm projection and an overall height of 842mm. Its Invisi Series II version has a 449mm pan height and a 570mm projection, with an S trap set out of 60 to 120mm. The Urbane II Luxe suite shares the 440mm pan height, and the Urbane II Compact has a 435mm pan height and a 500mm projection.
The Contura II close coupled suite has a 440mm pan height, a 655mm projection and an overall height of about 855mm, 350mm wide at the pan and 360mm at the cistern. Its Invisi Series II suite has a 570mm projection and an overall height that adjusts from about 882mm to 982mm, and the wall hung version has a 405mm pan height, a 535mm projection and a P trap only.
The Riviere close coupled suite has a 435mm pan height, a 660mm projection, an 870mm overall height and a 365mm width, and its Invisi Series II suite has a 570mm projection and a 982mm overall height. The Liano Easy Height suite has a 435mm pan height and a 655mm projection, with an S trap set out of 60 to 200mm and a P trap set out of 185mm. The Aire Concorde connector suite is 830mm high and 418mm wide with a 395mm pan height.
The projection differences are the ones that surprise people. The shortest pan on the page projects 500mm and the longest close coupled suite projects 700mm. That 200mm gap decides whether a door, a vanity or a shower screen clears, so check the projection against the room before you fall for a shape.
Which cistern arrangement suits your plumbing
Caroma sells its pans in the same formats as every other maker, and the format decides what the install involves. A close coupled suite puts the cistern directly on the pan, so there is little or no set out flexibility, which is why the Uni-Orbital connector matters on the wall faced pans. A connector suite such as the Aire Concorde joins a separate cistern and pan, so the pan can move to suit an unusual set out. A concealed cistern suite hides the cistern in the wall behind a flush plate that doubles as the access panel, and that access must be allowed for in case of a fault. Wall hung pans suit a P trap set out only.
The water inlet follows the same logic. A bottom inlet shows the pipe below the cistern. A back inlet hides the connection and looks tidier, and CHOICE recommends a plumber for it. Several Caroma listings accept either, but the Urbane II Compact takes a back inlet only, so it cannot suit a supply that already comes in at the bottom.
Concealed cisterns and Invisi Series II
Invisi Series II is the concealed cistern system. The cistern sits in the wall, the pan is wall faced or wall hung, and only the flush plate shows. The flush button on a concealed cistern is chosen separately. Wall hung pans
The Contura II and Liano wall hung suites run on Invisi Series II. The Contura II wall hung suite lists a P trap and a 535mm projection. A wall hung pan hangs off a frame in the wall and leaves the floor clear underneath. It needs the wall prepared before it is sheeted, so decide early. Water use and flush volumes
The Caroma listings that state a rating are 4 star under WELS, with a 4.5 litre full flush and a 3 litre half flush, which the listings give as a 3.5 litre average. WELS rates a toilet from the water used by four half flushes and one full flush, and more stars mean less water. CHOICE gives the usual minimum as 4 stars for a new home and 3 stars for a replacement, and says local rules may differ, so confirm the figure that applies to your project. Smart toilets and bidets
The Urbane II wall faced close coupled bidet suite puts a full bidet function in a conventional footprint. Water and air temperature, flow and nozzle position adjust from the remote, with oscillating and pulsating modes. The seat is heated and opens and closes automatically, and the suite has LED night lighting and a deodoriser. Power, water and outages on the bidet suites
The Urbane II bidet suites have an electronic bidet seat, so they need a power point as well as the water and waste connections. The maker's product page for the close coupled bidet suite says the seat has a surge protector that must be reset after a power outage, by lifting the seat assembly to reach the reset button, and that the toilet still flushes without power. The remote takes two CR2032 batteries, which are not included. The suite lists dual check valves with an integrated air gap, designed for AS2845.2 backflow prevention. The listings give no electrical supply figure, so ask the supplier for the installation guide and plan the power point before the wall is closed.
Hinge caps and buttons that match the suite
If you want the fittings to match the taps, Caroma lists hinge caps and flush buttons in several finishes, and each family names the suites it fits. The Urbane, Contura and Riviere hinge caps come in brushed brass, matte black and gunmetal. The listing says they fit the Contura II, Urbane II and Luna Slim toilets but not the Urbane II Luxe suites. The Liano, Arc and Xena hinge caps come in brushed brass, stainless steel, matte black, gunmetal and brushed bronze, and they fit the Liano and Luna suites and the Liano, Luna, Arc and Xena seats.
The Luna round cistern buttons suit Luna suites only, while the round metal button lists a long run of cistern ranges. Read the compatibility line on the listing, which toilet hinge caps and buttons and cistern toilet buttons carry in full.
Seats, comfort height and accessibility
Complete suites on this page list a soft close seat with a quick release hinge. The Contura II and Riviere box contents list the pan, cistern, seat, fixing kit and installation instructions. The Aire Concorde lists a standard hinge seat and a plastic cistern with elongated chrome buttons. If you need a replacement seat later, the Caroma toilet seats collection lists them.

Caring for a Caroma pan and seat
Most of the pans here are vitreous china with a glaze, and the care rules are those for any glazed toilet. Clean weekly with a mild, non-abrasive bowl cleaner and a soft brush. Avoid scouring pads, steel wool and wire brushes, which can dull the glaze. Keep in-tank cleaners and chlorine drop-ins out of the cistern, because they can damage the flush valve and the rubber parts. Wipe any cleaner splash off the seat hinges, the hinge caps and the flush buttons at once, since plated and PVD finishes mark more easily than ceramic.
GermGard, where a listing names it, is described as an antimicrobial treatment on the seat or the pan. It is a surface treatment, so it does not replace regular cleaning. Cleanflush is a rimless design with no closed rim for residue to collect under, which makes the bowl easier to wipe, but the trap pipework at the back of a close coupled suite still needs cleaning. Replacing or repairing an existing Caroma toilet
The brand is easy to confirm, but the model matters when you want the right spare part. The model name or product code is most often stamped or printed on the inner wall of the cistern. Lift the lid straight up and set it on a towel, because some models print the details on the underside of the lid. On older or commercial installs, the markings may be on the back of the pan or behind the seat. If nothing is visible, the flush button shape and layout can narrow it down, and so can the age of the property.
Check the inlet too. A back entry valve has its hose hidden inside the cistern, entering at the rear. A bottom entry valve has a visible hose below the cistern. You only need to match the exact model if you are replacing the whole unit, because most models share common spare parts. Fitting the wrong part can leave a cistern running, weaken the flush or use more water than it should. Keeping the bathroom consistent
The Riviere listing says its styling and proportions suit mixing with other Caroma ranges. If you are planning a full Caroma bathroom, choose the toilet early, before tiling or framing, so the plumber can set the waste and wall depth to suit.
