Fan Accessories Buying Guide

Fan accessories change how a ceiling fan is controlled, lit or mounted. This collection holds remote control kits from Eglo and Martec, the Eglo Tourbillion LED light kit, Eglo 40 degree angle canopies, Fanco rod and loom kits, Eglo down rods and the Fanco Smart Module. Each accessory is made for particular fans, so compatibility is the first thing to check. Replacement blades and other spare parts are specific to each fan model and are not part of this collection.

Which remote control kit fits my fan?

Check the fan range named on the kit. The Eglo Bondi kit is for the Eglo Bondi range and gives four speeds plus an extra slow mode. The Martec Premier and Martec Premium LCD kits suit the Martec AC fan range, with three speeds and timer settings. A licensed electrician fits the receiver inside the fan canopy. The Martec kits use a plug-in quick connect design, so fitting is fast, and a remote cannot usually run alongside a wall controller without a specific adapter.

What do 16 code combinations on a remote mean?

The Martec remotes offer 16 code settings, so each fan in the home responds only to its own remote. Without separate codes, one remote could change every fan at once. Ask your electrician to set a different code for each fan when fitting several.

What length down rod do I need?

Choose a rod that sets the blades about 2.1 to 2.4 metres above the floor. Fanco rod and loom kits come in 60cm, 90cm and 150cm in white and black, for the Eco Silent Pro and Infinity-iD v3 DC fans. Eglo down rods come in 450mm and 900mm in black and white for the Eglo Miami and Santorini fans. Higher ceilings need longer rods.

What is an angle canopy for?

An angle canopy lets a fan hang straight on a raked or sloping ceiling. The Eglo 40 degree angle canopy comes in matte white, matte black and oil rubbed bronze. Check that your fan model accepts an angled canopy and the ceiling pitch it allows.

Can I add a light to my ceiling fan?

Only if the fan is designed for it. The Eglo Tourbillion 18W LED light kit adds a 2,150 lumen, non-dimmable light to the Eglo Tourbillion fan, in black, white or titanium. Light kits are model-specific and usually cannot take standard globes.

What does the Fanco Smart Module do?

It adds smart control to the Fanco Eco Silent Pro and Infinity-iD v3 DC fans only. It does not suit other Fanco or other-brand fans, so confirm your model before ordering.
