Pill Shape Mirrors Buying Guide
A pill shape mirror is tall and narrow with fully rounded ends, so it reads as a soft capsule on the wall. What is a pill shape mirror?
A pill mirror has straight sides joined by rounded ends at the top and bottom. It sits between a rectangle, which has corners, and an oval, which curves all the way round. It keeps the height of an arch but rounds both ends, so it softens a wall of straight tiles, screens and vanity edges.
What size pill mirror do I need?
Most pills in this range are 456mm to 550mm wide, so they suit narrow vanities. As a guide, choose a mirror 70 to 80 per cent of the vanity width. A 500mm pill suits a vanity about 625mm to 715mm wide, and the 460 x 910mm Ingrain framed pill suits one about 575mm to 655mm wide. For a 900mm or wider vanity, hang two pills or choose a wider shape such as the Marquis Oval, which runs up to 1200mm.
Can I hang two pill mirrors over a double vanity?
Yes, and this is one of the most popular uses for the shape. Centre one pill over each basin and leave at least 100mm between the mirrors. Narrow designs like the Marquis Luna (456 x 1000mm) and the Remer Modern Oblong (460mm wide in 910mm or 1210mm heights) pair well. If the mirrors are lit, plan power for both before the wall is lined.
Which pill mirrors have lights?

Framed or frameless pill mirror?

How high should a pill mirror hang, and how do I clean it?
Set the centre of the mirror at about 1500mm to 1650mm from the floor, with 100mm to 200mm above the tap and at least 100mm below the ceiling. A 1000mm pill centred at 1600mm covers 1100mm to 2100mm, which suits most users. Clean with a soft cloth dampened in warm water and wrung out, then dry. Avoid glass cleaners and chemicals that can damage the silver backing, and keep the edges dry.
