A connector toilet, also called a linked toilet or link suite, has a separate pan and cistern joined by a connector pipe. What is a connector toilet?
In a connector toilet, the cistern sits on the wall above or behind the pan, and a short connector carries water from the cistern to the bowl. It differs from a close coupled toilet, where the cistern bolts directly onto the back of the pan. On the Caroma Aire Concorde, the connector is concealed so the suite has a tidy, simple look.
Why choose a connector toilet?
The main reason is flexibility. Because the cistern and pan are separate, the pan can sit across a range of set outs, so a connector suite can often go where the old toilet stood without moving the waste. That makes it a good fit for older homes and simple bathroom updates.
Will a connector toilet fit my bathroom?
Measure the set out, the distance from the finished wall to the centre of the waste pipe. Caroma gives the Aire Concorde a set out range of 155mm to 255mm, with 165mm recommended. Its overall height is about 830mm, its width is 418mm and the pan height is 395mm without the seat. Compare your measurements with the technical drawing for the suite you choose.
Do I need an S trap or P trap?
Look at the pipe at the base of your current toilet. If it goes down into the floor, you need an S trap. If it goes back into the wall, you need a P trap. On the Aire Concorde you choose the trap when you order, and the trap cannot be changed once the pan arrives.
How much water does a connector toilet use?
The Caroma Aire Concorde is rated 4 stars under WELS, with a 4.5 and 3 litre dual flush that averages 3.5 litres per flush. To achieve that flush and rating, the pan must be paired with the matching Caroma cistern, so always install the pan and cistern as a set.
What is an Easy Height toilet?
