They’re useful when it comes to brushing your hair, checking your pearly whites or taking a selfie or two, but did you know they generally reflect more light and create the illusion of a bigger space, too?

Choosing the right mirror size

To create a balanced look, the size of your mirror should be relative to that of your vanity. A common approach is to make the mirror exactly as wide as the vanity so the two line up perfectly. If they’re not the same width, then choose one that is approximately 20 percent shorter than the vanity. With respect to height, the underside of the mirror should roughly be 300mm from the top of the vanity and the mirror should roughly hang 2100mm above floor level.

It ultimately comes down to what works best for you and what your bathroom can accommodate.
