TradCo rim lock and milled edge door hardware buying guide
This TradCo range pairs a milled edge knob with a surface-mounted rim lock, a different hardware type to the mortice lever and knob sets in TradCo's other named ranges.
What a rim lock is
A rim lock is a complete lock body surface-mounted to the face of the door, rather than recessed into the door's edge the way a mortice lock is. It suits a period door where a mortice lock wasn't originally fitted, or a renovation aiming to keep an authentic surface-mounted look.
A single passage configuration
Every set in this range is a passage set, so it doesn't offer the privacy or entrance with high security lock options TradCo's other named ranges do.
Single and dual-tone finishes
Alongside single finishes in Matte Black and Polished Brass, several sets combine two tones, such as Matte Black with a Polished Brass keyhole, giving the knob and the lock's visible keyhole a deliberate contrast rather than a single uniform finish.
