Love It or List It: Camperdown

Love It or List It: Camperdown’s Luxe Makeover That Delivered $200K in Profit

When Ben and Linda bought their inner-city Camperdown terrace a decade ago, it was full of charm and challenges. Narrow rooms, awkward flow, and a bathroom barely big enough for one meant the home’s potential was hidden behind tired finishes and poor design.

After years of making do, the couple reached a familiar fork in the road: renovate or relocate? Enter Love It or List It Australia, where Neale Whitaker and Andrew Winter stepped in to see if clever design could transform the terrace into the forever home Ben and Linda had always imagined. “A lot of unlocked potential in this house,” Neale observed, while Andrew admitted, “Annoyingly, I agree with old Whitters.”

From tired terrace to urban sanctuary

Neale’s plan focused on light, flow, and warmth. “You’ve got all the space here. It’s just badly used,” he said, proposing to open the kitchen and living area into a light-filled entertainer’s hub while reconfiguring the bathrooms into calm, contemporary retreats.

The result? A once-cramped terrace transformed into a cohesive urban sanctuary, practical, tactile, and effortlessly stylish.

The bathroom - curves, calm and cohesion

Soft curves and fluted textures set the tone for the bathrooms, and Ingrain’s Curved Fluted Wall Hung Vanities became sculptural centrepieces. The warm ash finish of Ingrain’s Pill and Horizontal Shaving Cabinets added depth and natural contrast against sleek white benchtops.

To complement the cabinetry, Bao’s Matte White basins brought a refined simplicity, while the Elegant Rimless Back-to-Wall Toilets continued the home’s modern, minimal aesthetic. “Wow, this is beautiful… it feels so much bigger,” said Linda, stepping into her new ensuite.

“You’ve brought the old house slap-bang into the present,” Neale added.

Spotlight on Ingrain

The standout feature? The Ingrain vanities. Upstairs, the Ingrain Double Fluted Vanity was an instant showstopper, its curved detailing and warm ash finish brought grounded luxury to the home’s relaxed style. “There’s my double vanity!” Linda exclaimed. Ben agreed, admiring “the beautiful cabinetry and drawers.” Paired with the matching Ingrain Pill Shaving Cabinets, the space felt perfectly balanced and functional.

Downstairs, the Ingrain Single Vanity echoed the same soft curves and tonal warmth, creating seamless cohesion throughout.

Golden details, elevated design

Every finish was chosen with intention. The consistent use of Nero Mecca tapware and accessories in Brushed Gold tied the home together with understated luxury. From brushed gold shower mixers and twin round shower heads to towel rails, robe hooks, and matching tile insert wastes, every touchpoint spoke of quiet refinement.

Even the kitchen echoed the same golden warmth, featuring a Nero Mecca pull-out sink mixer that flowed seamlessly with the rest of the palette.

Design that pays off

Ben and Linda invested around $300,000 into the renovation, and it paid off. Their home’s value rose from $2.2 million to $2.7 million, delivering nearly $200,000 in profit in a flat Sydney market.

Beyond the numbers, this renovation proved how intelligent design choices, paired with quality fixtures from The Blue Space, can turn potential into performance, beauty, and long-term value.
